A Sri Lankan TIGER |
If you are a wildlife enthusiastic or a nature lover, a Safari in Yala National Park must be in the top of the list that things to do in Sri Lanka. It became wildlife sanctuary first and 1938 It became a National Park under the government. This world-famous National Park is located in the Southern area close to the sea from one side. It’s called Paradise of leopards since Yala National Park has the highest density of leopards in the world.
Other than leopards, you can see Elephants, Sloth Bears, Spotted deer, Water buffalo and many more birds! We arrange safaris to Yala National Park two times per day. Morning safaris are starting around 5 AM since then we can avoid the crowd in the park and drive in a different route in the park. Mostly the animals are much active during the dawn and dusk, so going early has a much chance of spotting more animals.
Total duration for safaris is around 3 hours. If you want to explore more we can arrange full day tours to the park. For full day safaris, we drive around the tracks until 12 and resting near the beach. During 12-2 you cannot drive inside the Yala National Park. We prepare packed lunch and breakfast for safaris upon request then you can enjoy lunch in the beach.
