WHALES TRIP |
Whale Watching in Sri Lanka is one of the best things that you can do during your stay in Sri Lanka. Around Sri Lanka, we see Blue Whales mostly during November to April in down south. They have a migration pattern around the country up to Trincomalee. So the peak months are December and January for the best sightings. Other than the largest mammal Blue Whale, you can see Bryde’s whales and sperm whales around Mirissa. These giant mammals can be seen from a distance, but better to pack your binoculars!
Our Whale watching trips starting from Mirissa harbor in the morning around 7 AM and will take 3 to 5 hours to reach back to the land. We take advantage of being in the sea earlier than others to get the perfect spots. If you are planning to get photographs, sunrise is the best lighting for that. Whale Watching in Sri Lanka is not a very easy task without an excellent crew. So we provide experienced guides who know how to track the Whales and other cetaceans. Other than Whales, you can enjoy large pods of spinner dolphins and bottlenose dolphins swim around. We conduct proper safety instructions and our experienced guides will take you around 10-30 nautical miles in the Indian Ocean to show you these giant animals.
Our boats are being observed by the coast guards in Mirissa coastal line, so the safety and precautions are a priority for our tours. hence you don't have to worry about taking your kids on board. We recommend a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for the tour for the protection of sun during the tour.
During the Whale watching tour, we provide breakfast and life jackets as well. If you are residing somewhere around the area, we send our vehicles to reach the starting point. If you are looking for a perfect place to do Whale Watching in Sri Lanka don't hesitate to contact us.
