📌Jeep Safari at Minneriya National Park

Jeep Safari at Minneriya National Park
#Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in third century AD.

📌Horton Plains

Horton Plains
#HortonPlains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 metres (6,900–7,500 ft) is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. The Horton Plains are the headwaters of three major Sri Lankan rivers, the Mahaweli, Kelani, and Walawe.

 📌Madu River

Jeep Safari at Minneriya National Park
The #MaduGanga is a minor watercourse which originates near Uragasmanhandiya in the Galle District of Sri Lanka, before widening into the Madu Ganga Lake at Balapitiya. The river then flows for a further a 4.4 km (2.7 mi) before draining into the Indian Ocean. The Buddhist #AmarapuraNikaya sect had its first upasampada (higher ordination ceremony) on a fleet of boats anchored upon it in 1803. The Buddhist Kothduwa temple is situated on an isolated island in the lake.

📌 Kitulgala

Kitulgala
kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rain forest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country.[citation needed] Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in February, the driest month. The Academy Award-winning The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge (and, supposedly, the submerged train cars that plunged into the river in the climactic scene). #Kitulgala is also a base for white-water rafting which starts a few kilometres upstream and also popular as a location for adventure based training programs

📌Little Adam's Peak

Little Adam's Peak
The Little Adam`s Peak got it`s named after it`s big brother, the holy mountain Adam`s Peak, because of the similar shape. Adam`s Peak is further west in Sri Lanka, close to Nuwara Eliya, and is 2243 m high and a much more exhausting and more challenging climb! The mountain has however three names; Adam`s Peak (this is where Adam first set foot on earth after being cast out of heaven), Sri Pada (Buddha`s footprint left by the Buddha as he headed towards paradise) and Samanalakande (Butterfly mountain, where butterflies go to die). We had plans of climbing Big Adam`s Peak, but Espen hurt his knee so we settled for the “little brother” instead.

📌Visiting GALLE...

GALLE LIGHT HOUSE

Galle is one of the prettiest cities in Sri Lanka. When you are visiting Galle, you will realize that no sooner after arriving at the city. Galle is one of the major tourist attractions in down south.
What’s' special there to see?👣➤

Galle has an ancient Dutch fort next to the Indian ocean. It was built on the 16th century by Portuguese, renovated by Dutch a few years later. It has some interesting places to visit and also it is a UNESCO world heritage. From the beginning, Galle Dutch fort was a multicultural area. So now also you will see it has Churches, Mosques and Buddhist temples well. So we will start the journey to the fort from the side of the clock tower.

The clock tower of the Galle fort was built in 1883 as a gift from Mudaliyar Samson de Abrew Rajapaksa who was a patient of Dr. P. D. Anthonisz. This famous doctor was a surgeon during the colonial time in Galle. It is the first thing you see when you are visiting Galle.

Next icon in the fort is the Dutch Reformed Church. This is one of the oldest Protestant churches in the country. It has some beautiful stained glass work inside the buildings. It's a very nice quiet place that you can wander around to see some great architectural ideas influenced by Dutch architecture.
All Saints' Church is an Anglican next to this is also a good place to explore Gothic Revival architecture in Galle Fort. So we make sure you visit both of the churches when visiting Galle.

Once you walk down the ramparts, you meet a Buddhist temple and Meera Muslim mosque close to each other. Those are the highlights of our tour as well. End of the ramparts, you see the Sri Lanka's oldest lighthouse on the edge of the fort. This place is also knowing as Point Utrecht Bastion, with a full view of the ships coming to the fort.

Other than these monuments, you can enjoy walking through the old streets passing the colonial buildings. These are very instagramble during the sunset as well. So if you wish to visit Galle, don't hesitate to join us for a custom-made guided tour.
